Sharma & Sons

Sharma & Sons is over on the first floor of Tated Sadan on Durghyya Road. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s usually a few of us around. Sadar is a busy place, always something happening on the street downstairs with the vendors and traffic. We’ve been in this building for quite some time now. You have to walk up the stairs since there isn't an elevator, but it’s just one floor, so it isn't too bad for most people. The office is full of old ledgers and some newer computers that we’re still getting used to using. We do a bit of everything here, mostly whatever the customers need that day. Sometimes it’s answering questions about orders, and other times it’s just catching up with people who have been coming to us for twenty years or more. My father started things off, and we just kept it going. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone like that. We just do the work and hope people like it enough to come back again. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break to talk. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock coming in, but we manage to fit it all in eventually. It feels more like a home than a corporate office. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers on the ground floor. It’s a good community.
