Art Factory

I run Art Factory over at No. 17 Abhinav Gokul in Ramdaspeth. It’s tucked right behind Hotel Tully. Actually, if you see the hotel twice on the map or in the address, that’s just how the streets are back there, and we always tell people to just keep looking behind the building. We’ve been in this spot for a good while now. It isn't a huge place, just a simple workshop where we get things done. Most days it’s just me and a helper or two. The space is usually a bit cluttered with supplies and half-finished projects. We don't really go for that polished look you see in some of the bigger shops downtown. It’s more of a practical work area. The light comes in pretty good through the front window in the morning, which helps when we're working on smaller details. We do all sorts of things, whatever people ask for really. It gets a bit dusty and we often have paint on our hands by the time we close up. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is nice for focusing. Sometimes the address confuses delivery drivers because of the way the lane curves behind the hotel. We just tell them to look for the small sign near the gate. It's a local business through and through. We don't have any big corporate plans, just keeping the doors open and the work moving. It's been our home base for years and we've gotten used to the quirks of the building.
