The street can be a bit noisy with all the traffic and people, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We work with all sorts of electromechanical parts and devices. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. The office is usually filled with the sound of tools or people talking about technical specs. We aren’t some huge firm with a glass building and fancy carpets. It’s just a solid, dusty place where we can do our work. Shivajinagar has a lot of energy, and we like being part of that. Some of the guys have been working here since the very beginning. We drink a lot of coffee and try to stay on top of the orders that come in. It’s not always perfectly organized, but the jobs get finished eventually. Sometimes a customer will come in with a broken part and we spend the whole afternoon looking at it together. We don’t do much marketing because we’re usually too busy with the actual equipment. The neighbors are mostly other small businesses, so we all look out for each other. It’s a practical setup. We have our workbenches and our storage in the back. It’s where we feel most comfortable. Just a group of people who know their way around machines and electrical stuff. We’ve stayed here because it’s a good, central spot for everyone. We like the local feel of Cementroad and the way things get done here.
