The shop isn't very large, but we make use of every inch of wall space for our shelves. We carry a mix of different medicines and the kind of general items people need daily, like soap or powder. The building, Pali Bhavan, is an easy landmark for anyone looking for us. We start our day early, getting the shop ready and cleaning the glass cases before the first customers arrive. It’s a lot of work keeping track of what’s in stock and what needs to be ordered from the distributors. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything, sometimes it’s just pen and paper to keep notes. The noise from the traffic at Kamal Chowk is something we have just gotten used to over time. It feels good to be a part of the local scene here. When someone comes in with a prescription, we take our time to make sure we give them exactly what is written.
