If you are looking for the Public Works Department office here in Chandrapur, we are located at 2-Sindhu Apartments in Hanuman Nagar. Specifically, Er. D. G. Sontakke is the one managing things from this spot in Tukum. It is more of a practical workspace than a formal office. We have our desks, our computers, and plenty of blueprints rolled up in the corners. The work we do is mostly about overseeing the construction and maintenance in this part of Maharashtra. It is a lot of checking on contractors and making sure the materials are what they said they would be. Sometimes we are out in the sun all day at a site and other times we are stuck here doing the accounting and the reports. It gets very hot in Chandrapur, so we try to get the outdoor stuff done early if we can. We are just local people working on local things. There is nothing very exciting about the daily routine. We answer the door when people come by with questions about the roads or the water systems. It is a bit disorganized at times because there is always too much to do and not enough hours in the day. We just take it one project at a time. The apartment setup makes it feel a bit more like a home office than a big government building, which is fine by us. It's just a quiet place where the real work gets planned.
