Prathkaal Women Welfare Foundation

Prathkaal Women Welfare Foundation is based at 45A Lavkush Nagar on the Manewada Ring Road in Nagpur. Being right on the ring road means there is always a lot of dust and noise from the trucks and cars passing by. Our office is a simple place, nothing like the big offices you see in the city center. We have a front room where we put some mats on the floor for people to sit on if we run out of chairs. It is a very informal environment. We don't have any uniforms or a strict schedule. We just open up in the morning and see who comes by. Nagpur gets incredibly hot in the summer, so our old cooler is always running and making a loud buzzing sound. We have a lot of stuff piled up in the corners, mostly things people have donated or papers we need to file away. It is a bit messy, but we know where everything is. The neighborhood is friendly, and we often have people sticking their heads in just to say hello or ask a quick question. We don't use any big words or have long meetings about strategy. We just deal with whatever issues come up that day. It’s a very grassroots way of working, right here in the middle of 440034. We have been in this spot for a while now and the locals know to find us here when they need something.
