Ordnance Factory Hospital

The Ordnance Factory Hospital out here in the Defence area of Ambajhari is a quiet sort of place most mornings. It’s mainly there for the people working in the factory and their families who live around the estate. You won’t find any big billboards for us on the main road. We are just tucked away where the people actually live and work. The rooms are simple and the floors are that old-fashioned tile you see in government buildings. It’s not fancy, but it is clean. A lot of the staff have been here for a long time, so they know the faces of the people coming in. If someone’s kid has a fever or a worker gets a scrape, they come here. We see a lot of the same people over the years, which makes it feel less like a hospital and more like a local clinic. There are trees around the building that give some shade during the hot afternoons in Ambajhari. It’s a bit out of the way for most city people, but for the folks in the Defence colony, it’s exactly where it needs to be. We handle the basic health needs without making a big fuss about it. The equipment is older but it works, and we do our best to make sure everyone gets seen before the day ends. It’s just a steady, working-class hospital for a busy industrial area.
