Narayani Clinic

Narayani Clinic is located in Nagpur, specifically in the 440008 zip code area. It’s a fairly quiet spot compared to the main city center. We have a small storefront with a sign out front that’s been there for years. Inside, the walls are painted a light blue, though they could probably use a fresh coat soon. There is a small bench for people to sit on while they wait their turn. We see all kinds of people from the nearby houses. Nagpur can get incredibly hot, so we usually have the cooler running full blast from March until June. It’s just a basic clinic where we handle the usual health complaints that come up in a family. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us here to manage the patients and the records. Most of our day is spent listening to people and writing things down in our registers. The neighborhood has a lot of trees, which is nice when the sun is out. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just have to sit there and wait it out with the patients. It’s a very local kind of place. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. We aren't trying to be a big medical center; we just provide a place for the community to come when they need a doctor’s eye on something. It is simple and functional.
