M/S Gujarat Ambuja Cements Limited

This is the office for the mechanical side of the Maratha Cement Works, out here in Upperwahi, Chandrapur. Raghavendra Gupta is the one who usually handles the deputy manager duties here. It’s a massive site, and things are always moving, dusty, and loud. We are part of the Gujarat Ambuja Cements setup, but on the ground, it feels more like a giant workshop. Chandrapur is known for being one of the hottest places around, so the heat in the plant can be something else during May and June. We spend our days making sure the machinery doesn't break down or fixing things when they inevitably do. It’s greasy, heavy work that requires a lot of patience. The office is tucked away in the GACL complex, and it’s filled with technical manuals and spare parts lists. We aren't here to make things look pretty; we’re here to keep the cement moving. There are a lot of people working shifts, so there’s always someone around, even late at night. It’s a long way from the big cities, and life revolves around the plant schedule. We eat our lunch together and talk about how to get the next repair done faster. It’s a tough environment, but the guys here are used to it. We just focus on the machines and getting through the day without any major issues. It’s a vital job, even if it’s not very glamorous. It keeps the wheels turning.
