Mombasa Cement Ltd

We've been operating out of Mombasa for quite a while now. The yard gets pretty dusty when the trucks start rolling in early in the morning, but that is just how it goes in the cement business. We spend most of our time making sure the bags are stacked right and getting the loads ready for the construction sites around town. It is hot work, especially under the Kenya sun, but we have a good group of guys here who know the routine. People come by needing stuff for small house repairs or sometimes big projects, and we just try to get them what they need without too much fuss. Sometimes the machinery acts up or a delivery is late because of traffic near the port, but we manage to get things sorted out eventually. The salt air from the coast doesn't always play nice with the equipment, so there is always some maintenance to do. Dealing with the logistics of moving heavy material across the region takes a lot of coordination. We aren't fancy and the office is usually covered in a thin layer of grey dust, but we keep the gates open and the orders moving. It is steady work. We know the local roads well and how the weather affects the curing times, so we talk to the builders about that. It isn't a glamorous job, just part of the local building trade here in Mombasa. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
