Janaki Aromas is tucked away at W- 36 in the MIDC Butibori area. It is a bit of a drive from the main city, but it is a good spot for what we do. The air around our building usually smells like sandalwood or jasmine or whatever we are mixing that day. It is a nice change from the usual exhaust fumes of the industrial park. Inside, we have rows of glass bottles and drums filled with different oils and scents. We spend a lot of our time measuring things out and making sure the lids are on tight. It is quiet work for the most part, unless the delivery trucks are backing up outside. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We just have our work benches and a couple of stools. Most of the people who work here have been with us for years. We know each other’s families and what is going on in the neighborhood. Sometimes the orders are small, just a few bottles for a local shop, and other times we are filling big crates for larger clients. Butibori can be a lonely place at night when all the other factories close up, but during the day it is full of life. We just keep doing our thing, blending scents and keeping track of our stock. It is a decent way to earn a living and we actually like the smells.
