Meleppattu Nidhi Limited is tucked into Shop No. 2, right across from the Sath Vachaan Lawn on Old Bhandara Road in Wardhaman Nagar. Nagpur is a busy city, and this part of town is no exception. There is always a lot of noise from the traffic on Old Bhandara Road. Our shop isn't very large, but it is enough for what we do. We handle the local savings and some gold loans for people in the Wardhaman Nagar area. Since we are on the ground floor, people often just pop their heads in to ask a quick question while they are out doing their errands. It can get pretty dusty with all the vehicles passing by, so we are always cleaning the glass. The office is pretty basic with just a counter and a couple of benches for people to wait. We don't have fancy air conditioning that works all the time, but we have a good fan and plenty of water for anyone who comes in. Working in Nagpur, you get used to the heat anyway. We know most of the shopkeepers around here and we often share tea from the stall nearby. It’s a very local, hands-on way of running things. We don’t do things in a complicated way; we just listen to what people need and see if we can help them out with their savings or whatever else they came in for.
