Our Mumbai office is tucked away in Goregaon West, specifically in the Anmol building. If you are driving down S.V. Road, you’ve probably seen the Patel Auto Pump; we are right across from there in flat C-304. It’s a different world from the factory floors, being up in an apartment building, but this is where the city side of Manikgarh Cement happens. We belong to the Century Textiles and Industries division, but here it’s mostly about the phones and the computers. The traffic outside on S.V. Road is always loud, and you can hear the horns all day long while we’re trying to coordinate things. It’s a compact space, filled with files and a few desks where we sit and handle the administrative side of things. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. We chose this spot because it's central enough for the staff to get to, and it’s easy to tell people where we are using the petrol pump as a landmark. It gets a bit cramped when we have visitors, but we make it work with what we have. Most of the people working here have been with the company for a long time, navigating the train rides and the monsoon rain to get into the office every morning. We just keep our heads down, answer the calls, and keep the Mumbai end of the business running as smoothly as we can given how busy the city is.
