Mahatme Hospital

Our hospital is situated in the Somalwada area, specifically around Rajiv Nagar and Chintaman Nagar. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the city center, which is nice because you don't have the constant roar of engines right outside the door. The morning routine here is pretty set; we open up, get the water heater going for the staff tea, and start checking the lists for the day. The building has a lot of windows, so we get a decent amount of natural light, which helps keep the mood from getting too gloomy. We have some wooden benches in the hallway that have been smoothed down by years of people sitting on them. It’s not a place with high-tech sensors or fancy digital displays on every wall. We still use a lot of paper and pens, and our filing system is just a bunch of metal cabinets that occasionally stick. The people who work here mostly live nearby, so there’s a lot of talk about local news or what’s happening at the market over the weekend. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall or a handbook telling us how to smile at people. We just do our jobs and go home at the end of the shift. It’s an honest way to work in a part of town that feels like a real community. Nothing is perfect, but it’s ours.
