Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation office is at 53 Mahesh Nagar in Nagpur. It’s a pretty functional place, which you’d expect for a bus transport operation. We have been in this building for many years and it’s started to show its age in the corners and the way the doors creak. We spend our time here handling the administrative side of things, like routes and staff schedules. It’s not the kind of place where anything stays quiet for long. There’s always someone coming in with a question or a problem that needs fixing right away. We use a lot of paper here, and the desks are usually piled high with forms and registers. Nagpur can be incredibly hot, so we have fans going all day, which makes a lot of noise but helps a little. We are just a bunch of people trying to keep the buses running and the schedules on time, which is harder than it looks on paper. Sometimes the buses get delayed or there’s a breakdown, and that’s when things get really hectic in the office. We don’t have much in the way of comfort, just the basic chairs and desks. It’s a local operation and we know the city and the routes like the back of our hand. We just show up, do the shifts, and make sure the work gets handled. It's been this way since I started here, and I don't see it changing much anytime soon.
