Mahalaxmi Clinic

This clinic is located on Rambhaji Road in the Itwari area, very close to the Chandekar Vithhal Rukmini Mandir. Being near the mandir means we hear the bells and the prayers every morning and evening, which gives the whole place a bit of a different feel compared to other clinics. Itwari is a very crowded part of town, with lots of narrow lanes and shops packed together, so finding a place to park a scooter can be a real challenge around here. Our clinic is quite old, and you can see it in the way the wooden door frames have aged over the years. We have a small counter where we keep all the patient records in big ledgers because we haven't switched over to computers yet. It is just easier for us to write things down by hand. The ceiling is high, which helps keep the place from feeling too small, but it also means it is hard to clean the cobwebs from the corners. We have a few benches for people to sit on, and they are usually full by the time the evening hours start. Most of the people who come here live within walking distance, so we know a lot about their families and their lives. It is a community kind of place. We don't have any big advertisements or flashy signs, just a small board outside. We just open up every day and wait for the regulars to stop by.
