Our place is out on Kalamna Road in Bharat Nagar. It’s pretty easy to find since we are right near Gomti Hotel. Nagpur gets really hot, so the afternoons are usually very quiet while everyone stays inside to avoid the sun. Once the sun starts to go down, the classes fill up and things get moving. We have basic wooden tables and some plastic chairs we’ve had for several years. It’s not a big corporate center with a lot of staff. It’s just a few rooms where local kids come to get through their schoolwork and prepare for tests. We spend a lot of time checking homework and going over the same chapters until the lessons finally stick. There’s usually a bit of dust because of the road work nearby, but we try to keep the floors swept. You’ll see cycles parked out front most evenings. We don’t have a big neon sign, just a simple one so people know they’ve reached the right spot. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep teaching. It’s just part of living in this city. We know the parents and the neighbors around here quite well. It’s a tight-knit spot in this part of Nagpur. We don’t do things in a fancy way. We just sit with the students and help them understand what’s in their textbooks. It's been the same routine for a long time now. We like the way things work here. No one is in a huge rush.
