Jain Trading Company is situated on Bhandara Road in the Itwari area, right in Agrawal Sadan. If you are looking for us, we are just behind the Bata Shoes Company building. Being in Itwari means we are right in the middle of the wholesale market chaos. There are always laborers carrying heavy loads on their backs and carts weaving through the narrow spaces. Our shop is a bit old-fashioned with high ceilings and wooden counters that have been worn smooth by years of use. We keep our stock piled up wherever there is room, sometimes reaching almost to the lights. It is a crowded space, but we know exactly where every single item is hidden. The noise from the street is constant—horns honking, people shouting prices, and the general buzz of the market. We usually sit on small stools behind the counter and wait for customers to come in with their lists. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that wobble a bit when they are on high speed. We’ve been part of this market for a long time, and we see the same faces every week. We don't use computers for everything; many of our records are still kept in thick paper registers with red covers. It’s a traditional way of doing business that still works fine for us. We just take things one customer at a time.
