This is the big government hospital located on Central Avenue Road in Nagpur. It is a massive place, always buzzing with people coming and going at all hours of the day and night. Since it is a medical college as well, we have a lot of students running around in their white coats, learning how to be doctors. It is never really quiet in here. You can hear the heavy city traffic from the wards most of the time. We take in everyone who comes to the door, no matter who they are or where they come from, which means the waiting areas are almost always full to the brim. People often travel from quite far away villages just to get treated here because it is a well-known spot in the region. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint in some of the older sections, and the ceiling fans hum quite loudly when it gets really hot in Nagpur. We do not have the fancy decor or the soft carpets of a private clinic, but the doctors here see more cases in a single day than some people see in an entire year. It is a lot of pressure on the nursing staff, but they just keep moving along. It is a very practical, busy place. We have the emergency wing that stays active all night long. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place, but if you need a doctor, we are right here on the main road. We are part of the daily life in Nagpur.
