Station Road in Tunsar can get pretty dusty, especially with all the movement near the railway tracks. Our place, Hdfc Banka, is situated in Goverdhan Nagar, which is a convenient spot for people coming into town. It’s not a fancy building by any means, but it has plenty of space for us to do our work. Being in the Bhandara district of Maharashtra, we get a lot of local people who are just going about their daily business. The office is mostly filled with the sound of the ceiling fans and the distant whistle of the trains passing by. We start our mornings by opening the shutters and letting some air in before it gets too hot. There is a lot of routine involved, like sorting through documents and keeping the ledgers updated. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. Most of our furniture is practical and built to last. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just sit and chat until it comes back on. It’s a very laid-back environment most of the time. We know a lot of the people who walk past our window every day. It feels good to be part of a small community where you recognize the faces of the people you’re helping. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep everything in order without making too much of a fuss.
