Geeta Clearing & Forwarding Agencies Pvt Ltd is our company and we work out of the Jariwala Building on N.M Joshi Marg in Byculla West. This part of Mumbai is always crowded and there is a lot of history in these old buildings. Our office is full of stacks of paper and old metal cabinets. Clearing and forwarding involves a lot of documents and dealing with different authorities, so things can get a bit slow and frustrating at times. We spend a lot of our day on the telephone or waiting for emails to come through about shipments at the port. It is not the kind of job you see in movies. It is mostly just hard work and keeping track of details. We have been here in Byculla for a long time and we know the neighbors well. The office isn't very big, so we are all squeezed in together, which means we talk a lot while we work. We don't use a lot of fancy business talk or try to act bigger than we are. We are just a local agency helping people move their goods through the system. Sometimes the rain in Mumbai makes things difficult, especially with the old roof, but we manage to keep the paperwork dry. It is a straightforward operation and we just take every day as it comes.
