Our place is right on Hudkeshwar Road in Nagpur, over in Shree Colony. Most people who live around here know where we are because we’ve been in this spot for some time. It’s a 440008 zip code area. It’s usually pretty noisy outside with the traffic from the main road, but inside we try to keep things focused on the lessons. We have a few rooms set up with desks and chairs. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the bigger groups arrive in the afternoon. We don’t really do anything flashy. It’s just about sitting down with the students and going over their school work. Sometimes we stay late if a kid is stuck on a math problem or something. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. You’ll find us here most days from morning until late evening. Shree Colony is a quiet enough neighborhood once you step off the main road. Most of our students walk here from their homes nearby. We know most of the families around here. It’s a very local thing. We keep a ledger for the fees and a lot of notebooks for the kids. Sometimes the tea stall next door is where we take a break. It’s just a regular teaching job. We make sure the syllabus is covered before the big exams start. It is a lot of work but we get through it.
