Dehaat Foundation

We’ve been based in Nagpur for a while now, specifically at Plot No. 58 in Gandhi Nagar. It’s a pretty quiet part of the city compared to the main markets. Dehaat Foundation isn't a big operation with hundreds of people. It’s just a few of us in a small office space. We spend a lot of time on the ground, but this is where the planning happens. The office has a bit of a lived-in feel. There are files everywhere and the tea kettle is almost always on. Nagpur gets really hot in the summer, so we try to get most of our work done early in the day before the sun really hits. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. Most people just find us by the plot number. It’s a straightforward setup. We have a couple of computers, some old metal cupboards, and a big table where we sit and talk. We aren't into those polished presentations or big marketing pushes. That’s just not how we work. Mostly we just talk to the locals and see what’s going on. We handle our own admin and keep things running as best as we can. It’s a modest place but it works for us. We've been in this spot in 440010 for quite some time and it feels like home. Nothing too complicated, just a local group doing their bit without making much of a fuss about it to anyone else.
