Being at Bagh Fruits on D-27 along the MIDC Hingna Road means we are right in the thick of it. The road out front is always crowded with heavy vehicles and people heading to work. We handle a lot of fruit here, so the rhythm of the day depends on what’s in season. When the trucks arrive in the early hours, it’s a bit of a scramble to get everything unloaded and moved into the shaded areas. We spend a lot of time looking at crates and making sure nothing is getting bruised. It is physically tiring work, lifting and stacking all day long. The warehouse isn't air-conditioned, so we rely on big fans to keep the air moving. You’ll find us mostly in the back, sorting through the latest arrivals. Sometimes we have local sellers coming by to pick up small lots, but mostly it’s larger quantities going out to the markets. Hingna Road is a dusty place, so we have to keep cleaning the floors. There isn't much time for sitting around. We have a small desk for the invoices, but most of the business is done on our feet. It’s a straightforward operation. We just try to keep the fruit moving so it stays fresh. If you come by in the morning, it’s a lot of shouting and heavy lifting while we get the day started.
