Agrawal Aluminum Centre is right at 1-2 Ahilya Complex near the Agarsen Chowk in Gandhi Bagh. If you know the area you know how loud it gets with all the rickshaws and people moving about. We’ve got the aluminum sections and frames piled up inside the shop and sometimes they spill out onto the sidewalk if we have a big delivery. The noise of the cutting machine is something you just get used to after a few years. It’s a family-run thing and we’ve been at this Gandhi Bagh location for quite a bit of time now. My father usually sits at the main desk and handles the accounts while I deal with the customers and the cutting. We don't have a website or anything like that because most people just walk in or call us on the mobile. It’s an old building but it serves us well for storing the heavy metal pieces. People come to us when they are building new houses or fixing up their shops nearby. We just give them a price based on the weight and the work involved and that’s that. There are no hidden fees or fancy talk here. We just work hard from morning till the market closes in the evening. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside and talk to the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s a decent way to earn a living and we have no complaints about the busy life.
