Pioneer Paints

Our shop is right on Market Road in Marthandam, at number one. It’s a busy spot, being near the market and all. We have been selling paint here for a long time. People come in from the surrounding villages on their way to do their weekly shopping. It’s usually loud outside with the buses and the local vendors, but we like the energy of the street. Inside, it smells like fresh paint and metal cans. We have shelves stacked high, sometimes too high, and it can be a bit of a squeeze when there are more than three customers at once. My brother and I usually run the counter. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. We aren't a big corporation, just a local business trying to help neighbors fix up their houses. Sometimes we run out of a specific shade and have to wait for the next delivery truck to arrive from the city. That's just how it goes here. We close up when the sun goes down or when the market starts to thin out. If you’re walking down Market Road, you’ll see our sign. It's a bit faded from the sun, but it's still there. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop and our phone. It's a simple way to live and work, and we appreciate the regulars who keep coming back.
