Kanaka Oil Mills & Traders

We run Kanaka Oil Mills & Traders over in Kanjampuram. The mill is a pretty simple setup, mostly just the pressing machines and a lot of space for storing the raw materials. Kanjampuram is a quiet place, but our machines make a lot of noise when they are running. You can usually tell we are working just by the sound and the smell of the oil in the air. We’ve been operating this mill for a while now, and it’s a very hands-on job. Everything gets covered in a fine layer of dust and oil, no matter how much we try to clean it. We work directly with the farmers and other traders who bring their goods to us. There isn't any fancy office here; we usually just sit on some bags or at a small wooden table to talk business. We don't have a website or any big marketing plans. People just know where we are and what we do. It’s physically demanding work, moving heavy sacks around and making sure the machines don't break down in the middle of a run. We’ve had to learn how to fix most of the equipment ourselves over the years because calling a mechanic takes too long. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to produce good oil and keep the business running smoothly for another year. Every morning we start early to beat the heat.
