J. L. Constructions

J. L. Constructions is located down here in Ningara Vilai, which is near Mulagumoodu in the Kanyakumari district. It’s a nice part of the country, though it can get pretty humid. We’re a local bunch, mostly. Most of us grew up not too far from the office. When we started this, it was just a few of us and some basic tools. Now, things have grown a bit, but the way we work hasn't changed much. We handle construction stuff, mostly local jobs around the district. People know us by name around here, which is nice but also means you can't slack off. If you do a poor job, everyone hears about it at the market. So, we try to be careful. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It's just a place to keep the blueprints dry and talk to customers. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other days it’s quiet enough to hear the birds. We don’t go in for big speeches. We’d rather just show you what we’ve built. It’s a lot of manual labor and making sure the measurements are right. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this area over the years. It feels good to drive past something and remember when it was just a pile of bricks. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent day's work in Kanyakumari. It takes time to build things right, and we don't like to rush.
