Digant Traders

Our place is at 14 Gandhi Nagar, right by the Annakudiyiruppu bus stand. You can hear the conductors shouting for passengers all day long. It’s a handy location because everyone knows where the bus stand is, so we never have to give complicated directions. The building is a simple one-story structure with a heavy metal shutter that gets stuck sometimes. We spend a lot of time just moving crates around and writing down numbers in our ledgers. It’s mostly manual work, nothing high-tech about it. There’s a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger books and a couple of pens that usually run out of ink when you need them most. We drink a lot of coffee from the shop next door to stay awake during the slow afternoons. Sometimes the dust from the road blows inside, so we spend a good chunk of the morning sweeping the floor. It’s just a regular trading business, nothing flashy or special. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we often help each other out if someone needs a hand with a heavy load. It’s a tight-knit spot, and even though the noise from the buses can be annoying, it’s home for us. We just keep our heads down and get the work done as it comes. There isn't much more to it than that, just a simple day of trading near the station.
