Basilica Marbles & Tiles

Paambanvilai is where we set up our shop, specifically at No: 10/20 A. If you’re heading toward the Ananthanadar Kudierupu Post, you’ll likely see our sign or just the stacks of tiles sitting outside. It gets pretty dusty out here, but that’s just the nature of dealing with stone and ceramic. Most mornings start with moving pieces around to make space for whatever arrived on the truck the night before. Basilica Marbles & Tiles isn't a fancy place, just a workspace where we keep things organized enough to find what people need. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard, showing folks the different patterns and seeing how the light hits the polished surfaces. The weather around here can be tough on the knees, especially when we’re bending over to inspect the edges of a marble slab. We’ve got a small office inside where the fan mostly just moves the warm air around, but it’s where we keep the ledgers and handle the paperwork. Sometimes the neighbor's dog wanders in looking for shade. We don't mind. It’s quiet enough on some afternoons, and then suddenly three trucks show up at once and everything gets chaotic. That’s just how the days go in this part of town. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and the locals know us by now. It’s just us, the stone, and the daily grind of keeping everything moving along at the post.
