Vikram Cement

Over in Birlagram, Nagda, you will find where Vikram Cement does its daily business. It is a place that has been tied to the local area for a long time. The surroundings are very industrial, and you can always feel that there is a lot of work going on nearby. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or carpets on the floor. It is just a workspace where we manage the flow of cement and deal with the logistics of moving it out to different places. The air in Nagda often feels heavy with the smell of the nearby factories, and we are just another part of that landscape. We start early in the morning when the mist is still on the ground and usually stay late to make sure everything is sorted for the next day. It is a lot of routine work, checking numbers and talking to the people who handle the heavy loads. We have a few old fans that creak when they spin, and the desks are scratched from years of use. It is a place for working, not for showing off. Most of the people who work here live close by, so we all know each other pretty well. We don’t use any complicated systems; we just stick to what has worked for us over the years in Birlagram. It keeps things simple for everyone involved.
