This business is located out in Parbatsar, near the Borawar Kumhari Range in Makrana. It’s a bit of a unique spot because we are actually set up near Govind Krishi Farm on the Nagaur Road. It’s very much a countryside setting. You get the smell of the fields and the dust from the marble mines nearby. We do exports, which sounds big, but really it’s just us packing things into crates and making sure the trucks are loaded right. The office is basically a small outbuilding on the farm. It’s quiet out here, except for when the heavy trucks rumble past on the way to Nagaur. We don’t have any corporate polish. Our shoes are usually dusty and our desks are covered in paperwork. We don’t use complicated software; a lot of things are still written down by hand. Working near a farm means we see the seasons change in a way people in the city don’t. When it’s harvest time, everything slows down because people are busy in the fields. We just take it as it comes. It’s a practical way of living. We aren’t trying to be the biggest exporters around. We just want to do our bit, get the containers filled, and make sure the accounts are settled. It’s honest work in a place that feels real and far away from the city noise. We just keep our heads down and pack.
