JK White Cement Plant

We are located out in Village Merta, right near the post office in Gotan on the main road. Being out in the village means things move a bit differently than they do in the city. The plant is a big part of the landscape around here. You can see the smoke and the silos from quite a distance away. There is always a line of trucks parked along the road waiting to pick up bags of white cement. It is a dusty place, and everything has a light coating of white powder on it, including the trees nearby. The workers come from the surrounding villages and they have been doing this for a long time. It’s a tough job and the shifts can be long, especially when we are trying to meet a big order. We have a small office near the main gate where we track the shipments. It is mostly just a place for the drivers to sign their papers. We don't have a lot of fancy amenities. There is a canteen where the men eat their lunch and a shaded area where people take breaks. It’s an honest way to make a living, turning raw materials into something people use to build their homes. We don't do much in the way of promotion. The cement we make goes all over the place, and that is enough for us. It’s just how life is here in Gotan.
