A.P.T.W.R. Jr. College (B)

Our college is located on Gundedu Road in Balanagar, down in the Mahbubnagar district of Telangana. It’s a junior college specifically for boys, and it’s part of the tribal welfare residential system. Because it’s a residential place, the students live right here on campus. That means the college is busy twenty-four hours a day. It’s not just about the classes during the day; there’s also the hostel life in the evenings. The buildings are functional and have been around for a while. You’ll see the boys playing sports on the grounds in the late afternoon when the sun starts to go down. The area around Gundedu Road is mostly open, so there’s plenty of room, but it can get quite hot in this part of Telangana. We have a dining hall where everyone eats together and rows of dormitories. The staff stays close by too, so it really is like a small village inside the walls. We don't have any of the fancy stuff you see in private city colleges. It’s a government-run place meant for students from the tribal areas to get their intermediate education. The routine is very fixed—study time, meal time, and a little bit of free time. It’s a hard-working atmosphere here. Everyone knows each other because they live and study together every day. It’s a simple, honest way to get an education and prepare for the future. The boys here work hard.
