Sri Murugan Rice Mill

You can find Sri Murugan Rice Mill right at the Four Road intersection in Mel Batcha Pet. We are positioned pretty close to the Indian Bank, so it’s easy for people to find us when they bring their grain in. The mill has been running for years, and the walls are stained with the fine white dust that comes from grinding the rice. It’s a loud place. You have to shout sometimes just to be heard over the hum of the engines. We see a lot of local folks coming in with a few bags on the back of their cycles. We take the grain, run it through the machines, and hand it back in better shape. There’s no big marketing team here, just a few of us who know how to fix the belts when they slip. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s baking outside. We keep a ledger by the door to track who brought what. Sometimes we run out of space when a big harvest comes in, and bags end up stacked almost to the ceiling. It’s a basic operation. We don't use fancy software or have a front desk with a receptionist. You just walk in, find one of us, and tell us what you need. It’s been the same way since we started operating here in Mel Batcha Pet.
