Sivam Granites

You can find us at 4-A in the S K M Complex. We are right by the New Arch on Velankanni Road. It is a pretty busy area with people coming and going all the time because of the road and the arch. Our space is part of the complex, so it’s a bit different than having a huge open yard, but we make it work. We have our granite samples and slabs arranged so people can see them as they walk by. It’s a lot of work keeping the place presentable because granite is naturally messy when you are moving it. We get a lot of foot traffic from people visiting Velankanni. Some stop in just to look, and others are actually planning to build something. We spend a lot of our time explaining the differences between the stones, even though they all look similar to some folks. It’s just us running the place, so if we are busy with a customer, the next person just has to wait a bit. We don't have a big team or anything corporate like that. We are just local people working in a local spot. The noise from the road is always there, but you stop hearing it after a while. We just focus on the stone and making sure the measurements are right when we do a cut. It’s a steady life here by the arch, and we like the community around us.
