Shifa Dental Hospital

Shifa Dental Hospital is situated right on Sir Ahmed Street in Nagapattinam. It’s at number 14/31, a part of the street that gets quite a bit of foot traffic during the day. Nagapattinam can be quite humid, especially in the summer months, so we usually have the fans going all day long to keep the air moving for the patients. People from all around this neighborhood come in when they have issues with their teeth. The street outside is narrow but it has its own rhythm. We’ve been here long enough that most of the shopkeepers nearby know us by name. Inside the hospital, we have the usual setup you’d expect. There are the dental chairs and the tools we use for daily procedures. It isn't a fancy place with modern art on the walls or anything like that. We just have what is necessary to do the job. Some days are busier than others, especially on Monday mornings when everyone seems to have a toothache at the same time. We just take them one by one. The hospital feels like a part of the street now. When the sun starts to go down, the street gets a bit quieter, and that’s usually when we start wrapping things up. We make sure the floors are swept and the equipment is put away properly for the next morning. It's just a regular day of work for us here in Nagapattinam.
