New Bharathi Matric School

New Bharathi Matric School is located at No.37 on New Street in Tiruvarur. Being right in the middle of town means we are surrounded by houses and other small shops. The street is narrow, so it gets quite packed in the mornings when everyone is arriving at once. We have a basic building that has been converted into classrooms over the years. It is a matriculation school, so we follow that specific curriculum, but we keep things very grounded and simple. The staff members are all local people who have been living in Tiruvarur for years. There is a lot of noise from the street sometimes, but the students are used to it and just focus on their books. We don't have a big fancy entrance or any marketing banners hanging up. It’s just a place for learning where the focus is on the children getting through their grades. During the breaks, you can hear the kids chatting and the sound of tiffin boxes opening. We have a small courtyard where they gather for the morning prayer. Life here is pretty predictable and we like it that way. No one is trying to impress anyone; we are just here to do the work of running a school and helping the kids in our neighborhood. It’s a very ordinary place that has become a staple for the families living on or near New Street.
