Gem World Impex

Gem World Impex is situated up on the third floor of the building at No. 15 Cutchery Road. To be exact, we are in room 302. It’s a bit of a trek up the stairs if the lift is having one of its bad days, which does happen more than we’d like. Being in Mayiladuthurai, the area is always moving. We handle a lot of the import and export paperwork from this office. It’s not a big warehouse with heavy lifting, just the administrative side of the business. We have a few sturdy desks and more filing cabinets than we probably need. You can look out the window and see the hustle and bustle of Cutchery Road below. It’s a noisy street, but once you’re up here, it’s a lot quieter. We’ve been here for several years. The office isn't decorated with anything fancy. It’s just basic furniture and the tools we need to do our jobs. Most of our day is spent on the computer or talking to people on the phone. We share the floor with some other small businesses, so you see the same faces in the hallway. We have a small kettle in the corner for making coffee. It’s a straightforward setup where we manage the logistics for the gems. We don't need much else to keep things moving. It’s just how we do things at room 302 in the Cutchery building.
