Asaraf Store

We are located at 410B in Kelaiyapillaiyoor which is part of Kilakadayam. The store is tucked away a bit from the main path. Most of the people who live nearby are regulars here. We sell the usual things like tea, coffee powder, and different types of soaps. I spend most of my day standing behind the wooden counter. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. I often have to use a tall ladder to reach the top ones where we keep things like plastic buckets and tubs. It gets a bit dusty up there because I don't climb up every day. We do not have any air conditioning, just a large window that lets in some breeze. Sometimes a stray dog comes and sleeps in the shade of our front porch. We don't mind it. We get our new supplies every Tuesday. That is the day we are really busy unloading all the boxes. My hands always get covered in dust from the big sacks of grain. We use an old scale to weigh everything out. It works fine for us. People come in to share the local news or just to say a quick hello. We have had this shop in Kilakadayam for a very long time now. The roof leaks a little bit during heavy storms but we just use a bucket to catch the water. It is a plain place for everyday needs.
