Laxmi Ice Factory

Operating this ice factory over in Haibargaon keeps us busy. It's more of an industrial operation than a shop where you'd go for a snack. Most of our production is big blocks of ice for the local fishermen and the vegetable vendors who need to keep their produce fresh. The machines are loud and they run pretty much all day and night. It gets very cold inside the main room, which is a nice break from the heat outside. We have a few guys who handle the heavy lifting because those blocks are no joke to move around. We started out with just one small machine years ago and slowly added more as the demand grew in the area. Haibargaon is a busy place for trade, so there is always someone needing ice. We don't do anything fancy with flavors or colors. It is just plain, clear ice made from clean water. We have a couple of delivery trucks that go out early in the morning to drop off orders at the market. Sometimes people stop by with their own coolers and we chip off what they need. It is hard work and my hands are always cold, but it is a steady living. We don't have an office staff or anything. If you call, you'll probably just talk to me or one of the guys on the floor. We just keep our heads down and keep the water freezing every single day. That is the whole story.
