Janata Spice Industry

Janata Spice Industry is located right in Village Amoni. We are close to the Post Amoni office, so we are easy to find if you are walking through the village. We handle all sorts of spices like turmeric, chili, and coriander. The whole building smells like cumin most of the time. We get the raw ingredients from the local farmers and then we grind them up. It's a very dusty job and we all wear scarves over our faces while the grinders are running. The machines are loud and they need a lot of oiling to keep them from jamming up. We don't have any big corporate office. Our desk is just a wooden table in the corner of the shed. We sell the spices in loose bags to the people in the village and also to the shops in the next town over. The weather in Amoni affects how we dry the chilies before grinding. Some days are better than others. We have been doing this for a long while now. It's a basic business but it's important because everyone needs spices for their cooking. We try to keep the prices fair for the neighbors. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around for it to come back on. That's just part of life in the village. We are just a small group of people working hard and trying to make sure the spices are ground just right for the local kitchens.
