Export Assam

Export Assam is located in Lanka on Lumding Road. We are in Ward Number 6, near the police station. Being in the Nagaon district, we see a lot of different people passing through our doors. Our work involves a lot of paperwork and moving heavy bags. The building is an old one, but it does the job just fine for us. We have a lot of tea most days while we wait for trucks or couriers to arrive. The Lumding Road is always busy with vehicles and noise. We spend our time checking the contents of boxes and writing addresses in black marker. It is humid here, so we have to be careful about how we store things so they don't get ruined. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you walk in, you will likely see us sitting at a wooden desk covered in files and stamps. We talk to the drivers and make sure they know where they are going. It’s not the most exciting work, but it is what we do. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a shipment. The rain in Assam can be heavy, and then we have to move everything away from the door quickly to keep things dry. We just try to keep things organized. It’s a local operation run by people who live right here in Lanka. We have been working from this spot for several years now.
