About Manuscript Paintings – Art & Craft in Nagaon
We’ve been here on R.K.B. Road in Dhing for quite a while now. It’s mostly just us working on manuscript paintings every day. People stop by when they need something specific done. The shop isn't fancy, just a workspace with brushes and paints scattered around. Most of the time, the light coming through the window is how we tell if it’s time to pack up. Dhing is a quiet place, which helps when you have to focus on small details. Sometimes we get busy and other times it's just local neighbors popping in to chat for a few minutes. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know the craft. It's honest work. The walls are covered in half-finished pieces and old sketches. Some days the humidity makes the paper act up, so we have to wait it out. That's just how it goes with this kind of thing. We like being part of the street here. You can hear the traffic outside, but inside it stays pretty calm. There isn't much to say other than we keep at it. We've seen the road change over the years, new shops coming and going, but we’re still here at the same spot. If you walk past, you’ll probably see someone hunched over a desk. It takes patience. We don't rush the process because that's when mistakes happen. It's just a regular part of life for us now, making these paintings and keeping the place running.
