Axom Manav Kalyan Foundation

Axom Manav Kalyan Foundation is over at 146 Marikalong Dimaruguri Path. We’re right near the Iddgah in Islampatty, which is a big landmark around here. If you’re in the Bhutai area, you’ve probably walked past our door a dozen times. The office is in a busy part of the neighborhood, so there’s always the sound of people talking and rickshaws going by. We’ve been here for a good while. The building isn't anything special to look at, and the windows get a bit dusty from the road, but it works for what we need. We don't have a big staff of people in suits. We’re just local folks who care about what happens in 782003. Most days, we’re just sorting through papers or meeting with people who need a hand with something. We don't use any of that corporate language you hear on the news. We just talk plain and try to be honest about what we can and can't do for folks. Sometimes the fan in the corner makes a loud clicking noise, and we have to shout a bit to be heard over it. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes with all the stuff we have piled up in the corners, but we usually know where everything is. We’re just trying to be useful to the people living in Islampatty and the surrounding streets. It’s hard work, but it’s our community, so we don't mind the long hours, I suppose.
