Anupurbik Art & Carft Association

You can find us over on Netaji Road in Panigaon, Nagaon. We are located care of Chinu Das. This is an association for art and crafts. We spend our time working with different items made by hand. It’s not like a factory where everything is the same. Each piece we handle has its own look. We spend a lot of time looking at things and talking to the people who make them. Our space is often a bit cluttered with various materials and finished pieces waiting to go somewhere. We aren't a big commercial enterprise with a shiny office. It is more of a community-type feeling here. We try to help get these local crafts out to people who might want them. It takes a lot of careful handling because these things can be fragile. Sometimes we have to figure out the best way to wrap something so it doesn't break during travel. The pace here in Nagaon is a bit more relaxed than the big cities, but we still have plenty to do. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just show people what has been made. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things over. We like being on Netaji Road. It’s a good spot for us. People stop by and we show them what is currently in the shop. It’s just a simple way of doing things. We just want to keep the local crafts moving to new homes.
