Suruchi Hospital

Down in Rabariwad, specifically in the Desai Vago area of Nadiad, things move at their own pace. Our hospital is tucked away there and it has become a staple of the daily landscape. You walk in and you’ll see the registration desk right at the front where things can get a little messy with all the notebooks and pens lying around. We don't have those fancy digital screens everywhere, just some old-fashioned boards and a lot of talking. The hallway smells like a mix of medicine and the tea that the boy from the corner shop brings over twice a day. The rooms are basic but they do the job. We have windows that let in some light, though they also let in the sounds of the street vendors and the cows that wander through the lanes of Rabariwad. It can get quite hot in the summer months, so the coolers are always running, making a steady humming sound in the background. Most of the people who come here live just a few streets away. We know their families and they know us. It’s not a quiet place, especially when it’s visiting hours and everyone brings their relatives along. We just keep things moving, making sure the beds are clean and the medicine is ready. It’s hard work and the days are long, but this is where we belong in Nadiad.
