Gayatri Trading Co

Gayatri Trading Co is situated right opposite the Mai Mandir. It’s a nice spot because you can hear the temple bells throughout the day, which makes the work feel a bit more peaceful. We are a trading company, so our space is mostly filled with boxes stacked up to the ceiling. It’s always a bit of a puzzle trying to find space for a new shipment when it arrives. I spend my mornings checking the inventory and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it gets quite busy with people coming in and out, especially on days when there’s a festival at the temple. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back for anyone who stops by for a chat. My father started this business, and I’ve just kept it going the same way he did. We don’t use any complicated software for the sales; just a big ledger book and a pen. It’s worked for us so far. The front of the shop is open to the street, so we get a lot of dust, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We don’t have a fancy sign, just the name above the door. Most people find us by looking for the temple anyway. It’s a simple life. We don’t have big dreams of expanding; we just want to keep things going as they are.
