Udyog Gram Bikash Foundation

Udyog Gram Bikash Foundation is out here in Nrisinghapur, which is in the Nadia district. We work from Prasanta Majumder’s place. It’s a rural area, so things move a bit slower than in the city. We mostly work on village development and helping folks with their work. Whether it’s farming or small crafts, we try to see how people can do better for themselves. We don't have a big office building. It’s more like a room where we meet and talk. People come in after they finish their work in the fields. We listen to what they need, maybe help with some forms or talk about new ways to grow things. It’s practical stuff. We don't use big words or have fancy meetings. Usually, we just sit around and discuss what the village needs next. Maybe it’s a better well or some help with the local market. It’s been this way for a few years now. We know everyone in the area and they know us. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just trying to keep the village moving forward bit by bit. Sometimes we run out of tea, but we never run out of things to talk about. It’s a decent way to live and work. Nadia is a beautiful place, especially during the harvest season. But it also has its share of problems that people in the city don't always see. That’s why we stay out here and keep working on the ground level.
