Our business is located in Krishnanagar, specifically on Yogipara Lane in Ward 15. The full name of the company is a bit of a mouthful, but most people just call us Rob Di Cakes. We are over near the Natun Pally and Bowbazar area in the Thana Kotwali part of Nadia. We have been here for a few years now, just making cakes and other snacks for the local area. The lane is quite narrow, so it can be a bit of a squeeze if two bikes are trying to pass each other. We do all our baking in a small kitchen that is usually way too crowded with trays and bags of flour. It is a family-type operation, so there isn't any corporate structure or anything like that. We just decide what needs to be done each morning and we do it. Sometimes we argue about the recipes, but we always figure it out in the end. The oven is old and has its own personality, so you have to know exactly how to use it. We aren't trying to be the most famous bakery in the world. We just want to make stuff that people in Krishnanagar enjoy. It is a lot of hard work and we are usually covered in sugar by noon. We don't have any big plans to move or change things. We just like being where we are and keeping the shop going as long as we can. It’s a simple life and we don't need much more than that.
